WILBUR TURNER

Wilbur Turner, 71, of the 4400 block of Leeward Drive, died Dec. 10, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mr. Turner was born in Sedley, Va., and was owner and operator of Turner Towing of Portsmouth.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Eley Turner; five daughters, Carolyn Winn and Jeanie Edwards, both of Virginia Beach, Ellen Carlsen, Margaret Clark and Diane Drew, all of Portsmouth; three sons, Wilbur M. Turner and David Turner, both of Virginia Beach, and Billy R. Turner of Chesapeake; his mother, Iva H. Turner Drake of Sedley; two sisters, Dorothy Burgess and Shara Kitchen, both of Sedley; a brother, Theodore R. Drake Jr. of Suffolk; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Fred Bates. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
