Firefighters from Chesapeake and Virginia Beach were unable to save
a home in the 2500 block of Carolina Road in Chesapeake after a
blaze broke out about 8:30 a.m. Sunday. One occupant, a woman, was
taken to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. No
other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under
investigation.
