PATTY B. CAGAN

Patty Banks Cagan, age 43, died Monday, Dec. 11, 1995, of cancer.

Mrs. Cagan was born in Longview, Texas. She was the daughter of Ralph Cohen and the late Rosalee Harris Cohen. She was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and held a Masters Degree in Montessori Method from Kriterion Montessori in San Antonio, Texas. She served as a primary school teacher for Virginia Beach Public Schools from 1976-1988 and since that time for Richmond Public Schools. She was devoted to her family, an extraordinary circle of close friends around the country, her students and her pets.

Surviving are her husband, Richard D. Cagan; her father, Dr. Ralph Cohen and stepmother, Lucy Cohen of Dallas; one brother, Robert Cohen of Encino, Calif; three sisters, Nan Gold of Beverly Hills, Calif., Lynn Meyers of Scarsdale, N.Y., and Cindy Schwartz of Dallas.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond Peace Education Center, 14 N.
