JAMES W. CRADLE

James Washington Cradle, who lived in the 7100 block of Gregory Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 8, 1995.

He was the son of the late James and Annie Cradle. He was a former member of the House of Prayer for All People. He was a retired stock clerk from Colonial Stores. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Rack and Sack Store of Norfolk.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Omelia Cradle; daughter, Odessa McBride of Norfolk; three brothers, David Cradle of Charlotte, N.C., William Earl Cradle of Portsmouth, Johnny Cradle of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Mamie Jennett and Annie Bell Moore of Norfolk, Lily Mae Green of Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at noon Thursday by the Rev. C.N. White in Oakwood Chapel Church of Disciples of Christ. Burial is in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The body will be taken to church at 10 a.m. and there will be a wake service Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
