A 21-year-old man who was shot Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of Military Circle shopping center remained in critical condition Monday afternoon, police spokesman Larry Hill reported.
The man was identified as Sean L. Norfleet, 21, of the 2400 block of Vincent St. in Chesapeake.
No arrests have been made.
The shooting occurred in a parking area just outside the north entrance of the mall.
Two men were walking in the lot and began to argue with two other men in a car, police said. Shots then were fired.
Norfleet was struck and ran inside the mall, where he collapsed. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Police had few further details about the shooting, but they believe the motive was the result of a dispute, Hill said.
They are looking for the suspects as well as any witnesses who were in the area near the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 664-4040 or the detective division at 664-7023.
