KENDRA CROSHAW ASSISTANT TO PRESIDENT OF CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

If you want something done, ask Kendra Croshaw. She's one of those people who always thinks she can add one more thing to her ``to do'' list.

And that list is pretty long as it is.

``I'm busy. Too busy,'' she said and laughed. She's not only assistant to the president of the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, but she works on different committees at the hospital, was a United Way team leader at the hospital, volunteered with the Day of Caring this fall, is involved with Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels, attends Old Dominion part time and as the wife of a politician, House Delegate Glenn Croshaw, is involved in all the activities and functions inherent to that role.

``My husband's schedule is the same way,'' she said. ``We're very understanding of each other's schedules.''

In her spare time, look for her on the golf course (she's just learning to play) or in her kitchen where she loves to whip up low-fat delights.

Full name: Kendra Menefee Croshaw.

Hometown: Purcellville.

What brought you to the Beach? The beach!

Birthdate: Nov. 1, 1955.

Occupation: Assistant to the president, Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.

Nickname: None (that I know of).

Marital status: Married to Glenn Croshaw since March 3, 1995.

Children: A beautiful niece, Lindy (3 years) and a handsome nephew, Charlie (4 months).

What is your idea of a perfect day off? Diane and I attended the American Music Festival this year in Virginia Beach and saw the Beach Boys - on the beach. That was a perfect day off!

Last smart thing you did: Became involved with Habitat for Humanity. It is a great organization and accomplishes a lot by giving people the opportunity to help themselves.

Last dumb thing you did: Was unrealistic about how many things I could get done in too little time. I do this quite frequently.

Favorite meal: Lobster ravioli, caesar salad and a good California Chardonnay.

Favorite movies: ``Gone With the Wind,'' ``Forrest Gump.''

Favorite song: ``Have I Told You Lately'' by Van Morrison, ``Always and Forever,'' by Luther Vandross and ``Another Park, Another Sunday'' by the Doobie Brothers.

Last book read: ``Beach Music'' by Pat Conroy.

Pets: None.

Secret vice: I don't know what you're talking about.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I would stop being unrealistic about how many things I can get done in too little time.

If you could change one thing about your spouse, what would it be? Glenn is perfect . . . except for one little thing. He has far too many duck decoys. A few ducks in a home go a long way.

Favorite TV shows: ``Lois and Clark.''

Favorite restaurant: Ti Amo in Laguna Beach. Bella Luna in New Orleans.

Your favorite night on the town: Grilling out at home with Glenn with no political functions, fund-raisers or charity events to attend.

Favorite sport: All water sports, golf, watching the Redskins (especially their most recent game in Texas Stadium).

Hobbies: Low fat cooking, herbal gardening, working out at Bally's, listening to music. I have also recently taken up golf, so I am an aspiring golfer.

Last vacation: Our honeymoon at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, Calif.

Worst job: Cleaning out closets for 25 cents each for my mother when I was a little girl. What happened to the child labor laws back then?

Of what achievements are you most proud? I am most proud of my affiliation for the past 10 years with Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. It is a privilege to be a part of the CHKD family where the hospital and patient care are focused entirely on children and their special needs, regardless of their ability to pay.

What would you like as your epitaph? A simple lady who loved life. ILLUSTRATION: Staff photo by DAVID B. HOLLINGSWORTH
