MARLIN C. HYDINGER

Marlin Claude Hydinger, 82, a 40-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, died early Monday morning, Dec. 11, 1995 in Arlington.

A native of McKees Rocks, Pa., Capt. Hydinger enlisted in the Navy in 1933 where his skills led him to a commission and a graduate degree from M.I.T. His career spanned 40 years of exemplary domestic and foreign service to his country. He retired with his late wife Helen Scott Hydinger to Norfolk in 1973 where he became very active in the Retired Officers Association. In 1988 they moved to Ocala, Fla., where he remained until earlier this year.

Capt. Hydinger is survived by son, Capt. Robert M. Hydinger of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Nancy H. Thompson of Fairfax Station, Va.; son, John P. Hydinger of York, Pa.; daughter, Karen H. Dyer of Sterling, Va.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna on Sunday, Dec. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Fort Myer Chapel on Monday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
