Wilbert Eugene Payton Sr., of the 9400 block of Alpine Court, died Dec. 9, 1995.
He worked in security at NationsBank where he was employed for 35 years. He was a native of Norfolk and a member of First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Payton; two daughters, Michelle Payton Kinner of Columbia, Md., Sheena Ann Payton of Chesapeake; three sons, Wilbert Eugene Payton Jr. of Norfolk, Dwain Leon Payton of Virginia Beach, Kenneth Frank Payton of Ben Salem, Pa.; sister, Goldie Payton Clerk of Chesapeake; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Anthony Paige in First Baptist Church. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The body will be taken to church at 9:30 a.m. There will be a Wake service today from 8 to 9 p.m. Graves Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
