LOIS J. VALENTINE

Lois J. Valentine, 82, of the 3900 block of Davis St., died Dec. 11, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Valentine, a native of South Norfolk, was a member of Gateway Freewill Baptist Church. She was a member of Westminster Chapter (NU)99, Order of the Eastern Star, Sherwood Forest Seniors Club, and Church of God Seniors. Mrs. Valentine worked with the Hope House Foundation in support of handicapped children.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Robert F. Valentine Sr.; a daughter, Linda Savage-Tuttle and her husband, Harry Tuttle, of Virginia Beach; a son, Robert F. Valentine Jr. and his wife, Shirley, of Virginia Beach; five sisters, Ruth Green of Elizabeth City, N.C., Lillian Aliff of Raleigh, N.C., Shirley Hess of Laurel, Md., Harriet Perkins of Vero Beach, Fla., Adelaide White of Bowling Green, Ky.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Wanda Savage.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by Associate Pastor Howard L. Bass. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and at other times in the home of Linda Savage-Tuttle, 1424 Maharis Road, Virginia Beach.
