Lucille Freeman, 81, of the 100 block of Hatton St., died Dec. 9, 1995, in Manning Convalescent Home, Portsmouth.
Mrs. Freeman, the widow of Howard Freeman Sr., was a native of Southampton County, Va. She was a member and usher of Powerhouse Church of God in Christ, Salisbury, Md.
Survivors include six daughters, Mildred Murphy of Salisbury, Mary Scott and Pecora Ferebee, both of Chesapeake, Emma Staten and Eledline Bradshaw, both of Franklin, Va., and Lucille Freeman; four sons, Aaron Freeman and Leroy Freeman, both of Salisbury, Howard Freeman Jr. of Chesapeake, and James Freeman of Franklin; 38 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, in-laws, and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Samuel W. Freeman.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth, by Elder Y.D. Thoroughgood. Burial will be in Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery, Capron, Va. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. today. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
