Ella Caplan Blachman, 89, formerly of Portsmouth, died Dec. 11, 1995, in Clemmon, N.C.
Mrs. Blachman, the widow of Julian M. Blachman, was a native of Baltimore, Md. She was a member of Gomley Chesed Synagogue. She was active in Sisterhood, Hadassah and Grey Ladies.
Survivors include a son, Morris J. Blachman and his wife, Penny; a sister, Florence London; three brothers, Fred Caplan, Howard Caplan, Irving Caplan; four grandchildren, Aliza Blachman O'Keeffe, Karen Ann Blachman, Max Siegel Blachman and Julia Rae Blachman. She was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Rae Blachman.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Gomley Chesed Synagogue, by Rabbi Philip S. Krohn. Burial will be in Gomley Chesed Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Blumenthal Jewish Home, 7870 Fair Oaks Drive, Clemmons, N.C. 27012-7513. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
