Ray Hamilton Ragland, 55, died Dec. 9, 1995, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Ragland, an attorney, was a native of Lawrenceville, Va. He was a graduate of Hampton University and Georgia State University College of Law, and was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Hattie H. Ragland; two sisters, Mrs. Lucia Windley of Portsmouth and Mrs. Irma Moore of Cleveland; two brothers, Leon Ragland of Portsmouth and Lawrence Ragland of New York City; six nieces; two nephews; two great-nephews; cousins; two brothers-in-law; and many dear friends.
He was predeceased by his father, James Farley Ragland.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in St. James Episcopal Church on Effingham Street in Portsmouth by the Rev. Jesse London. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the building fund at St. James Episcopal Church. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, in charge.
