Robert Shakleford Page Jr., 69, of the 700 block of Shirley Ave., died Dec. 13, 1995.

Mr. Page was born in Norfolk on Sept. 7, 1926, the son of the late Robert S. Page Sr. and Pattie Moring Page. He graduated from Augusta Military Academy in 1944. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He attended the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, majoring in English and journalism. He worked for a short time for the Norfolk newspapers and later in New York before returning to Norfolk and settling into his life career with the Department of Defense. He retired from the Naval Supply Center in 1982 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Christ & St. Luke's Church.

He is survived by his life companion of 45 years, Carl E. Sykes Jr.; a sister Aline Page Echols of Norfolk; nieces, Jane Johnston Echols Meador of Courtland, Va., and Beverly Moring Echols Keilty of Portsmouth; a nephew, Robert Page Echols of Norfolk; a dear and devoted friend, Minnie Sivels; nine great nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, by the Rev. Charles A. Joy. There will be a visitation today from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 101 West Plume Street, Norfolk, Va.
