Morris Wesley Etheridge Sr., of the the 900 block of Aberdeen Lane, died Dec. 13, 1995, in Brent Lox Hall Nursing Center, Chesapeake.
Mr. Etheridge, a retired custodian, worked for NationsBank, Chesapeake. He was the widower of Essie Mae Etheridge, and a native of Norfolk County. He was a member of Lee's Chapel A.M.E. Church, Bells Mill, Chesapeake, and a former chairman of the Trustee Board. He was also a former member of W.G. Alexander (NU)289 P.H. Masons.
Survivors include two daughters, Mable D. Townsend and Margaret Richardson of Chesapeake; a son, Morris W. Etheridge Jr. of Chesapeake; six sisters, Mary Moore, Lena Langston, Beatrice Bell, Rosa L. Smith, Sophia Alexander and Mamie Moylor of Chesapeake; a brother, Enoch Etheridge of Chesapeake; eight grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Lee's Chapel A.M.E. Church by the Rev. Horace Cross. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin at 4 p.m. today in Fitchett Funeral Home. The body will be placed in church at 11 a.m. Saturday.
