Two police officers and a public-utilities employee were inducted into the city's Hall of Fame Thursday during a luncheon to honor longtime city workers.
Award presenters said the Hall-of-Fame award recognizes outstanding dedication and service to the city, and said those inducted are role models for all municipal employees.
Police spokesmen Mike Carey and Lou Thurston, and public-utilities employee Mary Ginger were presented plaques by their bosses, and by Mayor Meyera Oberndorf and City Manager Jim Spore.
Their awards were presented at the city's 25th annual Service Awards Program at the Pavilion where more than 200 employees where honored for their work.
Three employees were congratulated on 35 years of service to the city, and 22 were honored for 30 years service.
The rest were recognized for at least 20 years of city employment. by CNB
