A one-year-old boy, who on Monday suffered a blow to the head, died this week in a hospital, police reported Thursday.
The child, Evan James Grandelis, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after police and rescuers were called to the 1600 block of North Oriole Drive just after 3 p.m. Monday. The residence is in the Hewitt Farms Navy housing area.
The child was removed from life support Wednesday after the parents gave permission to donate the child's organs.
The medical examiner ruled on Thursday that the cause of death was accidental.
