Benjamin Bruce Elliott Sr., 84, of 408 W. Riverview Drive, died Dec. 14, 1995.
A native of Suffolk, he was the son of the late Milton T. and Rosa Bruce Elliott, and the widower of Inez Barrett Elliott. Mr. Elliott was a 1933 VMI graduate, a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves and had retired as a rural route carrier for the U.S. Post Office after 39 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his son, Benjamin Bruce Elliott Jr. of Richmond; sister, Rose Marie Elliott Brown of Darien, Conn.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. H. Vance Mann. The family will be at his home. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
