A 17-year-old driver was killed and two passengers were seriously hurt when a car hit a tree on Bonney Road early Friday, police said.
The crash that killed Valaren Johnson of the 3300 block of Daytona Drive occurred about 6 a.m. on Bonney Road near South Thalia Road, investigators said.
The injured passengers were Isaiah L. Bennette III and his 17-year-old brother, Braddrick, who live in the 3300 block of Rainier Court. They were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Isaiah Bennette, 20, was listed late Friday in stable condition; his brother was listed as critical.
