BERNICE L. JAMES

Bernice Lundy James, 75, of the 3500 block of Elmore Place, died Dec. 14, 1995, in Lafayette Villa Nursing Center.

Mrs. James was formerly employed at the Naval Supply Center, Norfolk, and later worked as a nurses aid. She was a native of Greenville County, Jarratt, Va. and was the daughter of Walter and Bessie Myrick Lundy. She was the widow of Sidney James Sr. and a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church where she was active in many phases of church life. Among them, the Nurses Club, Deaconess Board, and the Rose of Sharon Senior Circle.

She is survived by a daughter, Marva Y. Keyser of Newport News; three sons, Johnnie James of Virginia Beach, Sidney James Jr. of Georgia, and Clarence James of New York; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Donald Keyser; two daughters-in-law, Sue James and Narges James. She will also be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. James Edwards in Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. in Riddick Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at noon.
