PENINSULA WOMAN, 34, FOUND STRANGLED

The family of a 34-year-old woman found her dead in her home early Saturday, and police have determined she was slain.

Police were called to the 4700 block of Marshall Ave. at 4:13 a.m. after relatives of the victim, April Ann Lewis, found her. The relatives had gone to the home to check on her after not being able to contact her, a police spokesman said.

Police sent the body to the state medical examiner's office in Norfolk for an autopsy. The examination revealed that she had died of strangulation.

Police have no suspects or motive in the case and are asking that anyone with information call investigators at 247-2500 or Crime Line at 245-0755.
