MEDIA

Landmark Communications Inc. of Norfolk has named Richard F. Spears president of Landmark Specialty Publications. He will oversee operations of The Antique Trader Weekly, seven monthly magazines, and a book publishing group serving the collectibles market. The ventures include Collector Magazine & Price Guide, Antique & Collectibles Price Guide, Toy Trader, Big Reel, and Collector's Supermall on the Internet. He was formerly vice president of Landmark Specialty Publications.

Deborah Monroe, vice president of Landmark Specialty Publications, was named vice president of Landmark Communications. Monroe will head CareerWeb, an employment and career planning service on the Internet, and will be responsible for operations of other Internet-related businesses as they are developed.

MUSEUMS

Mary Riley Pugh was named museum exhibits supervisor with the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation in Williamsburg. She will be responsible for the design, fabrication and maintenance of exhibits at Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center, two history museums operated by the foundation. She was formerly a graphic designer at the Virginia Museum of Natural History in Martinsville.

Also, Michael D. Shue was named a history education coordinator at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. He will work primarily in the foundation's outreach education program. Previously, he was a part-time education instructor at the foundation.

And, Douglas R. Shipman, formerly an outreach program supervisor in the foundation's education department, was appointed on-site education program supervisor. He will be responsible for development and implementation of all on-site museum education programs.

ACCOUNTING

Sandra S. Cottrell was named an associate at Strickland & Jones in Norfolk. She will practice in the area of general accounting and taxation. Previously, she was with the firms of Burrus, Paul & Turnbull and Coopers & Lybrand in Norfolk.

BANKING

Wanda C. Wilson and Sherry B. Dewar were promoted to senior vice presidents at Central Fidelity National Bank. Wilson serves as senior manager in retail administration and is responsible for credit and compliance issues, marketing and the utility staff at the World Trade office in Norfolk. Prior to this, she was branch manager at this office. Dewar serves as a group manager in retail administration at the Pembroke office in Virginia Beach and is responsible for 22 branches in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake and the Eastern Shore. Prior to this, she was branch manager of the Laskin Road office.

Kemp E. Savage III was named a loan officer at the Bank of Hampton Roads, South Norfolk office. He was formerly with Crestar Bank.

Kimberly S. McKimmey was named assistant vice president and office manager at Jefferson National Bank, Hilltop office. She has 11 years of experience with First Virginia Bank and First Union National Bank.

W. Kevin King was named executive vice president and senior loan officer at the Bank of Tidewater, Laskin Road office. He joined the bank in 1991 as vice president and most recently held the position of senior vice president.

Also, Neal A. Petrovich was promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer at the Bank of Tidewater, Laskin Road office. He joined the bank in 1988 and most recently was vice president.

Sarah Stedfast of Market Street Mortgage was elected president of the Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association. And Ted Yoder of Beach Fed Mortgage was elected vice president.

HUMAN RESOURCES

J. David Blevins was promoted to vice president and a member of the board of directors of The Lendman Group in Virginia Beach. He will head all activities in the West from the Silicon Valley. Prior to this, he was a regional sales manager with the company.

LAW

Michael F. Imprevento was named a litigation specialist with Breit Drescher & Breit in Norfolk. He was previously a partner with Sacks, Sacks and Imprevento in Norfolk where he had been a personal injury lawyer for more than nine years.

Richard C. Beale and Jonathan L. Hauser, previously of Croshaw, Beale, Hauser & Lewis in Virginia Beach, have joined the Richmond firm of Christian, Barton, Epps, Brent & Chappell as partners. They will remain at their office at One Columbus Center in Virginia Beach. MEMO: Career Track reports upper-level executive and management changes.
