Max Frederick Mann, 79, of Manteo, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 1995.
Mr. Mann, a native of Wanchese, was a retired postmaster for the District of Columbia Prison System and was a World War II Army veteran. He was the son of the late George W. Mann and Hattie Virginia Partridge Mann.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Mae Midgett Mann of the home; and two sisters, Florence Harris of Culpeper, Va. and Iodell Ward of Anderson, Calif.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, with the Rev. Herbert Hemingway and the Rev. Robert Bundy officiating. Entombment will follow at Roanoke Island Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.
