Edna Phthisic Chappell, 80, of 350 Gliden Road, died Sunday morning, Dec. 17, 1995, in her home.
A native of Perquimans County, she was the widow of Nurney Dewey Chappell and the daughter of the late J. Reubin and Mary M. Chappell Phthisic. She was a member of Warwick Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Janet Chappell Forehand and Donald F. Forehand of Hobbsville; a granddaughter and her husband, Barbara F.S. Dunn and Chris A. Dunn of Sunbury; two great-grandchildren, James T. Salmon III and Megan Elise Dunn; a sister, Maybelle Phthisic Brafford of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a brother and his wife, McCoy and Beulah C. Phthisic of Tyner; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Phthisic of Belvidere.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Warwick Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Hupp officiating. Burial will follow at the Phthisic plot of Piney Woods Friends Meeting Cemetery. Swindell Funeral Home, Hertford, is in charge of arrangements.
