Rachel Elizabeth Gatling, 80, of the 1400 of Eva Court, died Dec. 16, 1995, in Sentara Nursing Home.
She was a native of Camden, N.C. and the widow of William Henry Gatling. Mrs. Gatling was a member of Bibleway Apostolic Church of Chesapeake. She worked as a housewife.
She was predeceased by her parents, Addie and Alfred Walson. She is survived by two sisters, Geoldie Hughes and Birdie Mae Smith, both of New York; brother, Miles Edward Watson of Camden, N.C.; and three grandchildren, William A. Gatling Sr., Ralph Shaw, and John S. Shaw.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by Bishop William J. Faison in Bibleway Apostolic Church, Chesapeake. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Hale Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
