Elizabeth Badham Wood McMullan, a resident of Richmond, died on Dec. 19, 1995.
Mrs. McMullan, the daughter of Julian and Elizabeth Wood, was born on January 1, 1907 in Edenton, N.C. She was educated at St. Mary's School in Raleigh, N.C. and was a graduate of Sweet Briar College near Lynchburg, Va. She married Charles Grice McMullan on Oct. 23, 1929, and several years later she and her husband moved to Richmond, where they have lived until the present. Mrs. McMullan was a member of the Colonial Dames of America and was a former officer and member of the Board of Managers of the Crippled Children's Hospital in Richmond. She was also a member of the Virginia Museum Council, the Richmond Junior League, the Robert E. Lee Memorial Association, the Richmond Women's Club, and the Three Chopt Garden Club. She was an active participant in Richmond's Meals on Wheels program, serving that organization for many years. Mrs. McMullan was a member of The Country Club of Virginia and St. James's Episcopal Church in Richmond.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth McMullan Ruffin; a son, C. Grice McMullan Jr.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A burial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on West Gale Street in Edenton, N.C. at noon on Thursday, Dec. 21. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Children's Hospital in Richmond.
