Rachel Perry Yeatts, 76, of the 4200 block of Woodland Drive, died Dec. 19, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Yeatts, a native of Portsmouth, was the daughter of the late James E. and Rosa Hopkins Perry and the widow of Albert George Yeatts. She was retired as a seamstress at the Navy Exchange. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Chesapeake, served as a soloist and choir member at 4th Street Baptist Church, Faith Baptist Church and as a beginner Sunday school teacher for more than 40 years.
Survivors include three sisters, Rosa Lee Noe of Portsmouth, Dorothy Kimball of Lexington, S.C., and Henrietta Griggs and her husband, William J. Griggs, of Chesapeake; and 16 nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Carlton Smith. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at 4201 Woodland Drive, Chesapeake.
