James H. Jones, of Bobwhite Lane, died Dec. 19, 1995, in Orlando, Fla.
Mr. Jones was a native of Courtland, Va. He was the son of the late Tom and Clara Musgrave Jones and the husband of Willie Mae Jones. He retired as the former owner of Jones's Garage on South Street, Franklin, Va. Mr. Jones was a member of Hickory Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, Franklin, and a trustee of Hickory Grove A.M.E. Zion Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 185 in Courtland.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Jones; one son, James H. Jones Jr. of Franklin; two brothers, Matthew Jones of Suffolk and Percy Jones of New Jersey; seven stepsisters, Shirley Williams of Courtland, Jean Vaughan, Ida McKenley, Dorothy Williams, Evonia Turner, all of Hartford, Conn., Rebbie Warren of Portsmouth, and Bessie Turner of Los Angeles; three stepbrothers, David Turner of Hartford, Conn., Clifton Turner of Richmond, Va., and Roy Turner of Newport News, Va.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Hickory Grove A.M.E. Zion Church by the Rev. L.H. Burgess. Burial in the Southview Cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home in charge.
