Kenneth Lyle Deane, 82, of the 100 block of Goldcrest Drive, a retired master electrician, died Dec. 19, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Deane was born in Charlottesville, Va., and was the widower of Frances S. Deane. He was a member of IBEW Local 80. He was AAU State Heavyweight Boxing Champion during the 1930s and had sparred with Jack Dempsey.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy J. Docherty of Charlottesville; a brother, Temple Deane of Charlottesville; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Chaplain David Gunderlach. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at 1230 Porter Road, Norfolk (the Armed Forces Staff College).
