Lionel Harvey Etheridge, 85, of the 900 block of Grandy Drive, died Dec. 20, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
Mr. Etheridge was a firefighter at Norfolk Naval Air Station, and retired after 30 years of service. Mr. Etheridge was a native of Penneys Hill, N.C. He was a member of Knotts Island United Methodist Church in Knotts Island, N.C. Mr. Etheridge was a member of Princess Anne Masonic Lodge in Virginia Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine W. Etheridge; two daughters, Gayle Simons of Chesapeake and Carole Whitehurst of Virginia Beach; a brother, Scott Etheridge of Knotts Island; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 1995, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel by the Rev. Frank Jennings. Burial will be in Knotts Island United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 3 until 5 p.m. at their home, 933 Grandy Drive, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 20 Koger Executive Center, Norfolk, Va. 23502. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel are handling arrangements.
