Three of the city's top administrators will be getting 3 percent pay raises, the City Council decided Wednesday.
The council voted 6-1 to increase the salaries of the city clerk, city attorney and city manager. Councilman Richard R. Harris voted against the raise, saying he couldn't support the measure after refusing to give a pay increase to city employees last year.
City employees received 3.8 percent pay raises last July.
City Clerk Henry Murden, who receives the largest salary, will have his wages increased from $78,823 to $80,452. City Attorney C. Edward Roettger Jr, will have his salary elevated from $71,191 to $73,326. Murden has been a clerk with the city for 28 years.
Myles C. Standish, city manager, will receive a pay raise from $78,000 to $80,340.
Finance Director Christine Ledford said the extra $6,105 will come from the city's general fund budget.
The increase will take effect this month but will be retroactive to July 1. by CNB
