ELLA LOUISE BUXTON

Ella Louise Moore Buxton, 88, of the 2800 block of Meadowview Road, died Dec. 21, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mrs. Buxton, the widow of George Edward Buxton, was the daughter of the late Edward G. Moore and Sallie Burton Moore. She was educated at Farmville State College, Farmville, Va., and was a teacher at the high school level. Mrs. Buxton was a native of Portsmouth. She was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church in Portsmouth, Women's Club of Portsmouth, Friends of the Naval Shipyard and Art Museum, the Portsmouth Historical Society, and Portsmouth Teachers' Association.

Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Louise Buxton of Portsmouth; a son, Bruce Edward Buxton of Sterling, Va.; three granddaughters, Angie, Aimee and Amanda.

A Christian funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Raymond Edmonds. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today, and other times at 2305 Sterling Point Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
