RECYCLE YOUR TREE

The city's Division of Waste Management will be collecting Christmas trees again this year for recycling.

Trees will be accepted through the yard waste collection program on regularly scheduled collection days. The curbside collection will run from Thursday to Jan. 19.

To take advantage of the program, take trees to the curb with all artificial materials such as tinsel and ornaments removed. Trees should be left no earlier than 7 p.m. the night before the scheduled collection day and no later than 7 a.m. the collection day.

Residents who do not have curbside waste collection may drop off their trees at the Little Creek Recycling Center, located behind Kmart near Sewells Point Road, between Tuesday and Jan. 19. The center is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Commercial tree sellers with leftover trees should contact the Southeastern Public Service Authority at 548-2256 for recycling information.
