I can contain myself no more. No longer can I withhold the great pride I feel towards my fellow businessmen who are trying to develop the corner of Battlefield Boulevard and Cedar Road in the village of Great Bridge.
It does me proud that you adamantly refused the city's offer to purchase the property for a paltry $1.5 million, which would have merely doubled your investment of a couple of months earlier. What was most sweet was that you kept the population stringing along during this process.
Gentlemen, I implore you to continue to ignore the wishes of the vast majority of the surrounding citizenry in your noble quest for more money. Pay no attention to additional traffic that will spill over into the quiet Old Drive neighborhood as a result of your project. That is not your concern, my fellows!
Pish-posh on the idea that the historic site should be preserved! Why bother yourselves with long-dead heroes who risked their all in battle when there was no hope of financial reward?
What is most important, especially at this time of year, is your own self-interest. Continue your excellent work, gentlemen! You are businessmen after my own heart, what little there is of one.
Bah, humbug to all,
Ebenezer Scrooge
