RAYMOND E. BONNEY SR.

Raymond Edward Bonney Sr., 69, of Fullbrick Lane, died Monday, Dec. 25, 1995, in a local hospital.

He was a native of Princess Anne County, Va., and retired after 25 years as a fireman with the Norfolk Fire Department. Mr. Bonney was the son of the late Willie Albert and Mamie Bonney and the husband of Fay Bland Bonney of Coinjock. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Grandy Assembly of God Church and a member of its Men's Ministry.

Beside his wife, Mr. Bonney is survived by one stepdaughter, Barbara Lea Wuest of Powells Point, N.C.; a son, Raymond Edward Bonney Jr. of Ahoskie; a stepson, Kip Evans of Florida. He is also survived by a sister, Sallie L. Davis of Norfolk; a brother, Ryland L. Bonney of Norfolk; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Grandy Assembly of God Church by Dr. Douglas Harn. Burial will follow in the Laurel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Poplar Branch. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at their residence.
