William H. Baysmore Sr., of the 3200 block of Elliott Ave., died Nov. 24, 1995, in his home.
Mr. Baysmore, a 15-year employee of the City of Portsmouth Waste Management Department, was a native of Washington, N.C. He was a member of Christian Antioch Church of God In Christ, Portsmouth, and member and president of the Senior Choir, member of the Usher Board, and worked with the Sunday school department.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Baysmore; two daughters, Teresa D. Baysmore of Norfolk, Tina R. Baysmore of Portsmouth; three sons, William H. Baysmore Jr., Jeff Baysmore, and Randall J. Baysmore, all of Portsmouth; two sisters, Edith Baysmore, and Mary King, both of Portsmouth; a brother, Elmer L. Windley of Portsmouth; 14 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Christian Antioch Church of God in Christ by the Rev. Robert L. Windley. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Wednesday. The body will be taken to the church at noon Thursday.
