Marvin T. Bowman, 79, the retired founder and owner of Bowman Tree Service, died Dec. 25, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was a native of Bluefield, Va., and was a member of Deep Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 50 years. He was a member of the Gideon International, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice M. Bowman; three sisters, Lear Whitt of Bastian, Va., Mariea McCormick of Florida, and Lottie Lawrence of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Deep Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Revs. Terry Reel and Jimmy Jordan. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Bluefield, where a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The body will be sent to Mercer Funeral Home in Bluefield, W.Va., for services and burial.
