Doris Cutchins Laton, 78, of the 3300 block of Cricket Hollow Lane, died Dec. 25, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Laton, a homemaker, was a member of West Eighth Street Church of Christ, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. She was a native of Southampton County, Va., and lived most of her life in Portsmouth. Mrs. Laton was a previous member of Calvary Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include her husband, Frances Marion Laton Jr.; two daughters, Flo Clark of Roanoke Rapids, Barbara Bailey of Chesapeake; two sons, Frances M. Laton III of Amelia Island, Fla., Kevin Maddrey of Emporia, Va.; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Eight Street Church of Christ building fund, 901 W. 8th St., Roanoke Rapids, N.C. 27870. Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, is in charge of arrangements.
