Betsy Ritter King, 72, a retired medical assistant, died Dec. 25, 1995.
She was a native of Portsmouth and was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. She served as a volunteer at Maryview Medical Center and was the widow of Thomas Hudson King.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Lewis of Jacksonville, Fla., Charlotte King of Richmond, and Kathryn O'Donnell of Virginia Beach; two sons, Larry Lauterbach of Annapolis, Md., and Ed Lauterbach of Virginia Beach; one sister, Margaret Sanderlin of Norfolk; granddaughter, Shea O'Donnell of Virginia Beach; three grandsons, Brandon Lauterbach of Portsmouth, Todd Lauterbach of Nags Head and Matt O'Donnell of Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by a son, Hank Lauterbach.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Kathryn L. Pigg. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Broad Street United Methodist Church, 300 Broad St., Portsmouth, Va. 23707.
