Columnist Russell Baker's ``Mustn't get those expensive uniforms dirty'' (Perspectives, Dec. 21) is one more sad example of typical liberal bias, almost completely identical to the bias of the KKK against blacks.
It would seem that if one member of the Peace Corps or VISTA were at risk, Mr. Baker might have a different attitude; but since ``only soldiers'' will die in this quagmire, expending a few of their lives in a hopeless cause (Bosnia) must seem perfectly all right.
Ironically, Mr. Baker's writing shows how similar our more unkind sides are: The Nazis had the Jews, the Klan has the blacks and the liberals have the military.
