Henry Leroy Goode, 55, died Dec. 24, 1995, in the Hampton V.A. Medical Center.
Mr. Goode was born in Fletcher, N.C. and was the adopted son of the late Mrs. Esther Downes of Bryan's Road, Md. He graduated from Lackey High School in 1958 and enlisted in the Air Force from 1958 to 1962. He retired on disability as a result of an accident while serving in the Merchant Marines. A kind word and a big smile were his gifts to all.
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his son, Michael A. Goode and daughter, Michelle M. Goode, both of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Quantico National Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
