Mary Ila Groce died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 1995, in Sentara Nursing Center.
She was born in New Salem, N.C., and had been a Peninsula resident since 1959. She was a member of the Glendale Home Demonstration Club, Grace United Methodist Church, and was active in the Warwick Lions Club.
Mrs. Groce was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Norwood ``Sam'' Groce, and is survived by two sons, Norwood Stephen Groce of Newport News and Roger Taylor Groce of Mount Gretna, Pa.; one daughter, Barbara Anne Foster of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Weymouth Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel by the Rev. Robert Casey. Interment will be in Peninsula Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Hampton Roads Chapter, (NU)20 Koger Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
