Luther Whit Hall Jr., 69, died Dec. 27, 1995, in a Portsmouth Hospital.
He was retired from the City of Portsmouth and was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where he was a charter member. He was also a member of the Golden Rule Sunday school class. He was a native of Portsmouth and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Anne B. Hall; daughter, Frances Hall Leftwich and son-in-law, Dennis J. Leftwich of Atlanta, Ga.; son, John W. Hall and daughter-in-law, Gisele O. Hall of Montreal, Canada; a niece and several nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Robert F. Cofield Jr. in Loving Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. There will be a visitation today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the Building Fund of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4320 Bruce Road, Chesapeake, Va. 23321.
