Police are looking for a second suspect in the attempted robbery and malicious wounding of a Yellow Cab driver who was shot earlier this month.
Police spokesman Larry Hill said the incident occurred just after 6 p.m. Dec. 8 after the driver, Kevin W. Jordan, was called to the 3100 block of Vimy Ridge Ave. to pick up two men. He then drove the men to the 3400 block of Omohundro Ave., where the men attempted to rob him at gunpoint.
Jordan, 31, was shot in the face and shoulder. He was hospitalized and later released.
One of the suspects, James W. Mallard, 19, was arrested on Dec. 20. Mallard, of the 200 block of W. 34th St. was charged with attempted robbery, malicious wounding and use of a firearm.
Police are looking for the second suspect, 20-year-old Zorobabel M. Griggs, of the 1900 block of Jefferson St. in Chesapeake. Warrants have been secured charging Griggs with attempted robbery, malicious wounding and use of firearm.
Griggs , who also is known as Man, Manquan or Rameesh Taylor, frequents Park Place, Hill said.
