RUDOLPH HAYES JR.

Rudolph ``Nugget'' Hayes Jr., 38, of the 500 block of Appomattox St., died Dec. 27, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. Hayes, a clerk, worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 16 years. He was a native of Norfolk and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Norfolk. Mr. Hayes began his working career with Giant Open Air Market (Farm Fresh). He was a 1975 graduate of Norview High School and attended Norfolk State University.

Survivors include his mother, Annie Lee Jones Hayes of Norfolk; a sister, Angela Kay Hayes Howard of Norfolk; a brother-in-law, Eugene Howard of Norfolk; six aunts; four uncles; a niece, Kaysi Howard of Norfolk; a nephew, Shaquille O'Neal Howard of Norfolk; a godson, Takeyon Harrison of Norfolk; a godsister, Audrey Bunch of Norfolk; a godbrother, Kevin Blount of Portsmouth; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Rudolph Hayes Sr.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Mount Zion Baptist Church by Dr. Charles Hart. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today in Pretlow's Funeral Home, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 1024 Liberty St., Norfolk, at 11:15 a.m. for the procession to the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mount Zion Baptist Church, C.B.M.
