Clarence Hamilton ``Happy'' Barnes, 71, of the 2500 block of Gilmerton Road, died Dec. 27, 1995, in Suffolk.
Mr. Barnes, a native of Portsmouth, was a retired quarterman from St. Julian's Creek Naval Ammunition Depot. He was a member of Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge (NU)178, Churchland Masonic Lodge (NU)276, and Portsmouth Moose Lodge (NU)898.
Survivors include a very special friend, Edna C. Haskins of Chesapeake; three sisters, Josephine B. Goodwin, Marion B. Kight, and Margaret Ann Clark, all of Chesapeake. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Barnes and a sister, Ruth Powell.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Lee Ashley. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge.
