Billy Richard Chappell, 59, of the 400 block of Crosset St., died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 1995, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
He was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran with 25 years of service. He retired as a CW2 and worked with the support group at Dam Neck. Mr. Chappell was born in Banner Elk, N.C., and was the son of the late Dock M. and Ellon H. Chappell.
Survivors include his wife, Renate Chappell; four daughters; two sons; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Jones of Hendersonville, N.C., Mrs. Ruby Finch of Rock Hill, S.C., Peggy Weston of Boone, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, today at 3 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.
