Traffic lanes in the southbound and northbound tunnels of the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel will be temporarily closed today from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Tunnel authorities plan to close the right and left lanes intermittently to check the tunnel's fire extinguishers.
All lanes should reopen to traffic by 1:30.
