A Portsmouth man wanted on charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine in the River Edge Apartments complex surrendered to federal marshals late Tuesday, the FBI said Thursday.
Andre Lamont ``Dre'' Branche, 21, of the 1900 block of Prentis Ave., has been sought since federal indictments were unsealed Dec. 15.
Six other men have been charged. All are being held without bond on federal charges related to operating a drug gang.
Prosecutors say the crack cocaine ring terrorized citizens and used violence, assaults and murder to intimidate witnesses.
