PETTY PRESIDENT SHUTS DOWN GOVERNMENT

When will the president and media wake up and smell the coffee? The president stated that ``Congress shut the government down, they can open it back up.''

Perhaps Bill Clinton was sick at law school the day the Constitution was covered, but Congress drafts budget and spending bills. The president signs them. Congress has done its job.

The president should sign the budgets sent him unless he can muster enough support to amend them to his liking. Otherwise this all boils down to one petulant president refusing to do his job.
