CARLOS B. COOK

Carlos Bernard Cook, 82, of 37 Dowdy's Bay Road, died Friday, Dec. 29, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

He was a native of Clearfork, W.Va., and a retired steam pipefitter. He was a member and deacon of the Poplar Branch Baptist Church, a member of the Grandy Ruritan Club, and a 40-year member of Local (NU)110 Pipefitters Union.

Mr. Cook is survived by a sister, Rosalie C. Dixon of Clarmont, Fla.; a brother, Johnnie Cook of Newsome, Va.; and one sister-in-law, Mildred B. Vann of Murfreesboro, N.C.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, with the Rev. Michael Jordan officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Poplar Branch Baptist Church Building Fund or the Lower Currituck Co. Fire and Rescue Squad.
